What a great night it was for the re-opening of this historic building in the city of Detroit. Bixy Lutz took it to the next level with their show. Frankie Bones stays True to the Underground.

Frankie Bones is one of the original Techno DJs from New York City. He is true to the game and still DJs to this day. Frankie has had internationally success he has played in front of thousands of people and just recently played a warehouse party Rave in Detroit.

In this video courtesy of ATV Afterhours Television we find Frankie Bones in Harvey, IL for a party thrown by the Global Adrenaline crew. It was a hot night, which got even hotter when this Techno Lengend took to the decks.

Frankie Bones (real name Frank Mitchell) is an American techno and house music disc jockey from New York City. He is best known for bringing the rave culture to the United States after playing at a hangar party in the UK during 1989. Frankie Bones, the first American DJ to play these raves, is considered to be ‘The Godfather of American Rave Culture’.

He got his first inspiration from his father’s vast record collection after his father was murdered. Later on, after he had begun producing records, he was offered a gig to play for 5,000 people in England called “Energy” on the strength of his compositions. As the event started on August 26, 1989, the projected attendance had gone through the roof and Frankie played to 25,000 people while the sun came up.

Being profoundly moved by the experience, he brought it back to Brooklyn in the form of his series of Storm Raves. The Storm Raves events began with only a few hundred people in attendance growing to over 5,000 where the likes of Josh Wink, Doc Martin, Sven Vath, DJ Keoki and Richie Hawtin were able to launch their performances into international careers. The Berlin Love Parade, which is generally considered to be the largest rave in the world, named its 1991 and 1992 Parades after well-known compositions by Frankie Bones.

Traci Lords to appear at Motor City Comic Con

Kevin Smith called her an American Pop Icon. John Waters called her a Sexual Terrorist. Traci Lords is an actress who has appeared in dozens of films and television shows from Roger Corman’s Not Of This Earth, to Cry Baby and Blade, from Melrose Place, Roseanne, Will & Grace and Gilmore Girlsto series regular roles on NBC’s Profiler and Syfy’s First Wave.

Her most recent film Excision premiered at Sundance 2012 and will be released by Anchor Bay later this year. She is a writer whose autobiography Traci Lords Underneath it All (HarperCollins)was a NY Times Bestseller. She is a singer/songwriter whose techno album 1000 Fires (Radioactive/MCA) topped the Billboard Dance Chart and was featured on both the Mortal Combat and Virtuosity soundtracks.

Kelley Jean to lead the band TIGHT as their new singer. (det.dun.news)

Kelley Jean joins the ladies of  TIGHT -  Tuesday Cross (Bass)  Alicia X. Andrews (Drums) and Layla Labelle (Guitar) as the new singer for this Rockin Alternative Blues group.

TIGHT is a perfect fit for Kelley Jean with her raspy Blues growl, Soulful voice and Dance Techno vibe, she can bring a lot to the group. Kelley Jean recorded her tracks over at the Straight Ahead Studios in Oak Park, MI with Mike Boulan.

Mike Boulan on his No Cover Label has produced and recorded some of the very best in Jazz and Blues artists  in Detroit, which have included; Billy Davis, Johnnie Bessett, Thornetta Davis, John Sinclair and Motor City Josh just to name a few. Mike has put out over a hundred CDs on the label in the last 17 years. The ladies of  TIGHT wanted that Blues & Rock and Kelley Jean found a it in Mike Boulan.Now that’s TIGHT!
